Ruth's Chris
So, this looks like a real receipt; and it is in fact just that. Most of you know that I am still livin' the poor college kid lifestyle. I'm on fat loans from the government, and most everything I borrow, I'm going to someday pay back with interest. So I never order drinks with food, and save as much cash as I can so my future burden is minimized. Here's where the story gets good.
Roommate won his fantasy football league. This means 10 people paid 30 bucks to try to win everyone else's money. Since he took home the prize, and he's the type of guy who likes to celebrate, he decided he'd take us roommates out for sweet, candy, juicy, goodness (= steak). So tonight, rather than study, we went to Scottsdale. Ruth's Chris is a high end steak house that provides every table with 3-4 servers and cooks their steaks at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit and serves them on 500 degree plates so they're cooking all the way to your mouth. Glory. This is a place where you buy the steak, and then you buy the sides you want. They are not included. This is the true meaning of the French 'a la carte.' Bam! So, he wanted to go big, appetizers, desserts, Kobe beef. Everything. I chose the $7 starter salad with bacon dressing (are you kidding? how could I not?) and a $47 T-bone. Succulent and delicious are not even on the right page of the adequate adjective dictionary to describe this meal. We split sides, two of my roommates ordered some other frivolous stuff. Then we all chose desserts that were actually constructed in heaven. Mmmmm.
My food cost probably $75 with tip. The whole bill was $391 after the tip was dropped. I had never spent more than $16 on a meal for myself before. And thanks to the gloriousness of Brandon Marshall scoring big points in Week 15, this happened to me. Mmmm. It won't become a habit, and I didn't fit in well with the crowd around us that were contentedly eating there. But it was a pretty rad experience, and my stomach is all kinds of happy. Steak, potatoes, asparagus, coconut shrimp, and Chocolate Explosion are all here to testify to that.

Hey! Nice blog. Ruth's Chris is my FAVORITE!!! Unfortunately, I am only able to dine there on the generosity of others. That place is crazy expensive!
