My tonsils are huge!
You guys. I didn't feel too hot today, but I made it through....barely. Ugh.
Here's two thoughts I had today:
First - We say 'not too shabby' pretty much a trillion times a day, but we never admit to actually being shabby. It's like a word that really only exists in the negation form. It seems to mean 'not too bad,' but the dictionary helped me out.
shabby (adj), shabbily (adverb), shabbier, shabbiest, shabbiness (noun)
1. impaired by wear, use, etc.; worn: shabby clothes.
2. showing conspicuous signs of wear or neglect: The rooms on the upper floors of the mansion had a rather shabby appearance, as if they had not been much in use of late.
3. wearing worn clothes or having a slovenly or unkempt appearance: a shabby person.
4. run-down, seedy, or dilapidated: a shabby hotel.
5. meanly ungenerous or unfair; contemptible, as persons, actions, etc.: shabby behavior.
There you go. Next job, use shabby in a different way today
Second - I have a friend who eats healthy and works out regularly. But, on occasion, this person will go all out and eat just a bunch of whatever - food not so healthful or doing a body good. Then this friend will chase the food with a tall glass of fiber in water. Fiber keeps people regular by adhering to food in the digestive tract and rendering it unusable to the intestines. So it just keeps on goin.' I told this friend that he/she had some inverse (or maybe reverse) bulimia going on. That was probably a stretch though or maybe even off key. No offense intended anywhere.
I was seeing emergency patients today and bunches of folks came in for broken teeth. I don't know what's going around, but be on the lookout everyone. The tooth fairy must have been really slow last quarter and is boosting up her quota. Yikes.
